Nothing gained in feeling dour, moving through the midnight hour. Fingers trace the velvet chair, flowers twisted in our hair. Mirror image, hollow twin - someone else was looking in, down the hallway by the stair, soiled hem in autumn air. Moved the spread into the parlor while she lit the candelabra, and reflected in her pendant was that milky moon suspended. Funny look upon my face, captive to an orb in space - for the beauty of the stars I smiled as I turned the cards.
